I thought it might be nice to compile a list of stories from other authors that I’ve particularly enjoyed.  There is a whole flood of Firefly fic out there for all tastes; these just happen to be a few that fit mine.  This list is not complete, and will be added to as I remember or discover stories I particularly like. If a link is broken, try googling the title of the story; often the same story will be posted in several different places online.

Wash didn’t really die in Serenity…..this is an awesome story for those who love Wash and want to see him come back live and well.  It’s well written and believable (enough)…enjoy!

Nathan attends the Flanvention and gets mysteriously swapped with Mal, ending up on Serenity trying to cope with Mal’s world. All the best of Nathan and Mal in one fanfic! Sounds a bit creepy, but really isn’t. It’s very tastefully done and well written.

Alliance messes with Mal, River helps see him through. Explores Mal’s fears and trust amongst the crew.

Beginning’s End, by Uncomprehending

Mal & crew pick up an injured woman they find planetside, who turns out to be someone Mal fell in love with during the war. Both parties thought the other was dead, and we learn more about them and their histories as she recovers on Serenity. This is a work in progress, getting better all the time. There are some bits near the beginning that don’t ring terribly true, but the story is well worth reading anyway.

An old enemy comes back to haunt Mal and Inara, and they come to confront their feelings for each other as they struggle to survive the encounter. An excellent story, well written. Quite violent and angsty, with the ending still up in the air….
